📋 Description

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI. • Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and third-party systems. • Integrate and maintain MercadoPago and other payment gateway APIs. • Work with CockroachDB for data management, queries, and performance optimization. • Implement asynchronous workflows and messaging systems using RabbitMQ. • Contribute to an existing production codebase and quickly take ownership of development tasks. • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver features on schedule. • Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and payment-processing issues. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to system improvements. • Support both backend and frontend development efforts as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced English proficiency (B2+ written and spoken). • 5+ years of software development experience (exceptional candidates with 3–4 years may be considered). • Strong experience with Python development. • Hands-on experience building backend applications with FastAPI. • Strong experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs. • Experience working with CockroachDB or similar distributed SQL databases. • Experience with RabbitMQ or other message broker technologies. • Experience integrating MercadoPago APIs. • Experience working with Latin American payment gateways and payment ecosystems. • Full Stack development experience with the ability to contribute to both frontend and backend applications. • Ability to quickly understand existing codebases and contribute independently. • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. • Nice to Have: Experience with additional LATAM payment platforms such as: PayU, Wompi, Conekta, Culqi, previous fintech, payments, banking, or financial services experience. • Experience with microservices architectures. • Experience with event-driven systems. • Experience working in remote or distributed teams. • Familiarity with cloud-based environments and modern deployment practices.
