Center for Applied Linguistics is a research and educational organization focused on improving language and literacy education. The Center engages in projects that enhance language learning across various demographics, including adult literacy, dual-language education, multilingual education, and more. It offers a variety of services, such as research, online courses, professional development, and resources for educators and learners alike. The organization is particularly noted for its work in multilingual education, advocating for effective teaching strategies, testing and assessment, and promoting culturally sustaining approaches to language education. CAL actively works towards addressing educator shortages and supports multilingual paraeducators. Additionally, it provides webinars and video content to support language education and assessment.
