📋 Description

• Lead a motivated frontend engineering team focused on building AI-generated learning content and a new learning library • Help design and deliver intuitive, scalable user experiences for learners and educators • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and data partners to shape meaningful solutions • Drive technical strategy and lead team rituals like planning, retros, and reviews • Coach and mentor engineers through regular feedback and career growth conversations • Set clear team goals and foster an open, inclusive, high-performing culture • Actively contribute to feature development—this is a hands-on leadership role • Stay current with frontend best practices and help continuously improve performance and usability

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience in frontend engineering (ideally in TypeScript/React or similar), with a passion for crafting seamless and accessible user experiences • Prior leadership experience coaching engineers and managing high-performing teams • A pragmatic approach to delivery—you're able to break ambitious ideas into actionable, measurable outcomes • Product sensibility and empathy for end users, especially educators and learners • Experience in the learning or ed-tech sector is a big plus, especially if you’ve built tools that help people teach or learn • The ability to lead with context, not control—you're great at setting direction while empowering your team to solve problems • Experience collaborating in cross-functional squads (design, PM, data, QA) • Comfort getting hands-on with code when needed to support the team • A growth mindset and a love of learning—you’re curious, adaptable, and excited about Canva’s mission to democratize design and education
