📋 Description

• Design and build core infrastructure connecting services across Canva's backend engineering organization • Lead a major migration of backend service communication • Collaborate with partner engineering teams and leaders • Drive support for additional languages and frameworks • Own reliability, performance, and correctness of critical-path systems • Mentor engineers and raise the team's technical bar • Build and run infrastructure for service communication, traffic routing, security, and language flexibility

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building and operating infrastructure used by other engineering teams • Ideally experience with API gateways, RPC, or service mesh in high-traffic, large-scale environments • Ability to own systems where reliability and correctness are critical • Ability to drive technical direction across teams and communicate clearly with engineers and platform consumers • Years of experience owning large-scale, high-transaction production systems commercially • Ideally experience working in more than one programming language • Passion, curiosity, and willingness to learn
