• Develop business with existing Members and assigned Suppliers. • Identify and convert new membership opportunities across the designated territory. • Connect Suppliers with Members. • Promote Capricorn products, services and events. • Grow the value Members receive from their relationship with Capricorn. • Plan and run an independent field-based schedule with leader support. • Spend approximately 80% of time meeting Members, prospects and Suppliers. • Manage administration, follow-up and reporting. • Manage a portfolio of approximately 350 Members, including regional territories. • Grow existing business and maintain regular engagement with priority Members. • Build a strong local network and identify commercial opportunities. • Collaborate with internal teams to progress solutions. • Conduct prospecting, comprising approximately 10–20% of the role. • Travel approximately every 6–8 weeks, generally for one week at a time.
• Proven experience in business development, relationship management or high-level customer service. • Strong business development and opportunity-identification capability. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. • Strong personal organisation, attention to detail and administration skills. • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and run an effective field-based schedule. • Commercial awareness, sound negotiation skills and a practical approach to problem solving highly regarded. • Experience in the automotive, industrial or manufacturing sectors. • Knowledge of the automotive parts and service industry or automotive supply chain highly regarded but not essential. • Experience in a BDM role or a previous role within a two-sided member-and-supplier community highly regarded. • Confidence working with suppliers and internal specialists to develop customer solutions and sales opportunities. • Established local network or demonstrated ability to build one quickly. • Current valid driver’s licence essential. • Relevant qualifications in business management or sales and/or previous experience in a field-based and autonomous role highly regarded.
