• Provide accurate and timely assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes on medical records • Review medical records, super bill, and charge sheet to identify diagnoses and procedures • Assign ICD-10-CM codes and CPT-4 codes to outpatient procedures • Abstract diagnostic and procedural codes into the network system • Review and monitor assigned work queues and physician notes reports • Provide information on specific problem accounts to the Coding Supervisor • Collaborate with the Coding Supervisor, Physician, and Practice Manager
• 3 years of experience in hospital and/or physician practice outpatient coding • Minimum of one of the following certifications: Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, coding guidelines, and computers • Proven detail orientation and good problem-solving related to coding
