📋 Description

• Mentor and teach students using university and department-level procedures and materials • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and weekly assignments • Respond promptly to student questions and concerns about course content and assignments • Facilitate learning through posts/announcements, emails, occasional one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos • Communicate regularly with students about participation and performance • Conduct targeted outreach based on student trends and needs • Build genuine and meaningful relationships with students through consistent communication • Prepare and execute class-wide, group-wide, and individual outreach plans • Track communication histories and meaningful student interactions • Plan appropriate follow-ups • Participate in occasional training exercises and meetings • Apply feedback from training and evaluation to improve performance • Teach and mentor students in backend and fullstack web development courses, including database, web backend, web services, and fullstack development courses • Support the overall delivery of courses while graders handle assignment grading

🎯 Requirements

• Candidates must be fluent in English and Portuguese • Candidates must submit their application in English • Must currently live in and be authorized to work in Brazil • Deep understanding of and commitment to BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s mission, defining characteristics, and student population • Adaptability to new processes, procedures, and technologies • Excellent interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, and unbiased in sensitive situations • Proven reliability and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and discipline-specific software • Ability to communicate clearly in writing • A completed bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree documentation is also acceptable • At least 3 years of work experience • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON • Experience with Node.js and React • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub • Academic documents must be officially recognized in Brazil and the country of origin • In-progress transcripts and associate-level degrees are not acceptable
