• Identify trends impeding academic success. • Conduct targeted outreach and provide instruction to target groups and individuals. • Build capable learners, confident in their ability to succeed academically and in life. • Utilize university and department-level procedures and materials to mentor and teach students. • Gain and retain an in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and assignments students are completing each week. • Apply authoritative content expertise to respond promptly to student questions and concerns about course content and assignments. • Serve as the facilitator of the learning process by supporting students through posts/announcements, emails, occasional one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos. • Communicate regularly with students regarding their participation and performance, and carry out outreach efforts to ensure effective instruction and mentoring throughout the course. • Develop genuine and meaningful relationships with all students through regular and consistent communication across approved channels. • Use department-created and curated training materials, procedures, and systems to prepare and execute appropriate class-wide, group-wide, and individual outreach plans based on student trends and needs. • Show consistent and timely responsiveness to students who respond to targeted outreach. • Track communication histories and meaningful interactions with students, and plan follow-ups at appropriate intervals. • Participate occasionally in training exercises and/or training meetings to receive additional guidance and feedback. • Apply feedback received through training and evaluation to improve performance.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese (required) • Deep understanding of and commitment to BYU Pathway Worldwide’s mission, defining characteristics, and student population. • Adaptability to new processes, procedures, and technologies. • Excellent interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, and unbiased in sensitive situations. • Proven reliability and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and discipline-specific software. • Experience with online teaching/learning, especially with at-risk learners (preferred). • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or other related fields. • A master's degree in a related field is preferred. • Online and/or classroom teaching experience in Mathematics. • Professional experience in a related field (desired).
