• Support country programs to pursue institutional donor funding opportunities in line with IRC’s Business Development Strategy • Support all phases of business development, from opportunity identification to contract signature • Lead or support pre-positioning, technical brainstorming, partner and competitor landscape analysis, and win theme sessions • Support the full proposal lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, Go/No Go processes, templates, timelines, recruitment, budget review, document completion, meetings, notes, and drafting/proofreading proposal sections • Identify consultants, partners, and proposal development support • Support conceptualization of proposal and bid designs for new activities and project amendments • Provide proposal quality assurance and compliance support • Coordinate consortium partner inputs and regional reviews and approvals • Review agreements, highlight compliance requirements, and support award negotiation • Maintain complete and accurate electronic files and submission trackers • Deploy to country offices to lead proposal development as needed • Support partnership opportunities, partner identification, and teaming arrangements, with a focus on women-led national organizations • Coordinate inputs to donor meetings, conferences, and communications • Represent IRC externally to donors, peers, and partners as needed • Develop, update, and deliver business development training • Facilitate post-submission debriefs and capture lessons learned • Support internal knowledge management and incorporate lessons learned into future proposals • Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new grants and partnerships team members • Contribute to regional strategic priorities, translation needs, special projects, and assigned tasks • Report to the Head of Business Development for Asia and collaborate across IRC teams and departments • No line management responsibilities
• Experience in developing and supporting humanitarian and development proposals for NGOs • Experience with strategies and proposal processes of key government/statutory donors – US, UK, EU, German, Scandinavian, etc. • Experience collaborating with and supporting national and community-based partners • Experience in proposal budgeting • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate across a variety of relationships in a multicultural environment • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in remote and diverse teams, including as team leader for proposals • Clear, compelling writing skills • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively • Ability to travel internationally (approximately 20% of time) • Fluency in English • Adherence to IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct and IRC policies on Safeguarding, Conflicts of Interest, Fiscal Integrity, and Reporting Wrongdoing and Protection from Retaliation
