• Provide overall technical leadership, coordination, quality assurance, and strategic oversight for the gender component of the UNESCO–BNU Project • Co-design project methodologies, ICT Club activities, mentorship engagements, Innovation Bootcamp activities, training materials, facilitation guides, implementation tools, and capacity-building approaches • Mobilize, coordinate, supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to three Supporting Gender Specialists • Strengthen the capacities of the technical implementing partner, teachers, mentors, school focal persons, and other stakeholders • Provide technical leadership and monitoring during ICT Clubs, mentorship programmes, ICT and STEM clinics, Innovation Bootcamps, STEM hackathons, and related activities • Identify and prepare female ICT and STEM role models and mentors and design mentorship and career-exposure engagements • Maintain direct technical responsibility for five assigned schools • Ensure consistent application of gender-responsive and gender-transformative approaches across 20 schools • Identify gender-related barriers, risks, and opportunities and recommend measures to strengthen implementation • Consolidate and quality-assure monitoring findings, achievements, lessons learned, good practices, challenges, and recommendations • Prepare the Inception, Technical Review and Team Mobilization Report, Consolidated Gender Technical Monitoring and Quality Assurance Report, and Final Gender Technical Report • Serve as the principal technical focal point and remain accountable to UNESCO for technical outputs
• Advanced university degree in Gender Studies, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field • Over 10 years of experience in gender equality, girls’ empowerment, and gender-transformative programming • Expertise integrating gender-responsive and gender-transformative approaches into education, digital skills, ICT, STEM, youth development, or related programmes • Experience providing technical leadership, coordinating multi-stakeholder programmes, and supervising multidisciplinary technical teams • Experience designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives • Experience providing technical advisory services and producing high-quality analytical and technical reports • Experience working with government, development partners, and international organizations • Excellent facilitation, communication, analytical, coordination, mentoring, and report-writing skills • Excellent knowledge of English and Kiswahili • PhD highly desirable • UNESCO/UN experience is an added advantage
