📋 Description

• Develop a practical Conservation and Management Manual for respectful and scientifically sound management of human remains and artefacts at Cambodian memorial sites • Provide guidance on legal and institutional frameworks, ethical principles, documentation, field recovery, preventive conservation, storage, risk management, monitoring, and long-term conservation planning • Undertake two field missions to Cambodia, including site visits to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre, and M-13 • Conduct consultations with site managers, stakeholders, and relevant national partners • Design and deliver two capacity-building workshops for approximately 20–30 participants each • Develop reusable training materials, including PowerPoints and fact sheets • Present the manual to relevant stakeholders • Produce manual deliverables, including a draft outline, draft manual, final English manual after peer review, and final activity report

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in conservation, archaeology, heritage studies, museum studies, anthropology, or a related discipline • At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in heritage conservation or museum collection management • Demonstrated experience working with human remains and/or sensitive heritage materials • Track record of relevant peer-reviewed publications • Experience developing conservation manuals or technical guidelines • Strong analytical and research skills • Excellent writing and drafting skills • Strong stakeholder engagement, coordination and facilitation skills • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Excellent English writing and communication skills • Submit an up-to-date curriculum vitae including relevant publications • Submit a brief technical proposal including methodology, workplan, and timeline • Submit a financial proposal indicating the overall lump-sum cost of the assignment
