• Lead finance for a scaling B2B SaaS business heading into its next capital phase. • Serve on the executive team, report to the CEO and answer to the Board. • Own financial planning and analysis, the group model, SaaS metrics, scenario and downside planning, treasury and financing strategy, investor-grade reporting and data-room readiness. • Bring financial economics to commercial decisions with the CEO and sales leaders, including unit economics, cost to serve, pricing and deal modelling. • Own controllership, including month-end close, statutory reporting, external audit and multi-jurisdiction tax. • Own the annual budget, department-level budget ownership, accrual discipline and cost discipline. • Prepare and present Board and management reporting and answer directors' questions. • Manage cash, treasury, covenants, cash-flow forecasts, drawdown and repayment planning, covenant monitoring and FX exposure. • Build and maintain investor-grade reporting and data rooms. • Lead the finance technology stack and automation agenda. • Oversee internal control and risk management, including control documentation, the insurance program and risk register; potentially contribute to Global Risk and Compliance. • Develop the finance function through better systems and automation rather than headcount, with potential progression into investor relations, capital strategy, M&A, diligence and a CFO title.
• An FP&A-led finance leader who has owned a budget and forecast end to end. • Recent, hands-on controllership, including month-end close, statutory reporting, audit and tax executed personally. • Multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction experience, including operating under investor and financing covenants. • Comfortable presenting to a Board and answering directors' questions directly. • CA, CPA or equivalent. • Willingness to own and improve a function and work hands-on in a small team. • Valued but not required: a capital raise, sale or diligence process supported from inside the business. • Valued but not required: B2B SaaS experience and fluency in SaaS metrics. • Valued but not required: finance automation designed and shipped personally. • Valued but not required: pricing and unit economics work. • Valued but not required: enterprise risk and governance exposure.
• A competitive base salary benchmarked against Australian and New Zealand software market data at Director level, plus superannuation or KiwiSaver, and participation in the executive incentive plan. • A remote-first and flexible work environment. • Back2Base: we bring the whole company together in person, because remote-first should not mean never meeting. • Paid parental leave, home office setup support, and a wellness allowance. • A CEO who has been doing this work himself and will make room for the person who takes it on. • A seat at the table at the point in a company’s life when finance decisions genuinely change the outcome.
