📋 Description

• Write daily news stories on legislation, religion, elections, public policy, and political trends impacting Catholics. • Pitch daily and weekly story ideas with a Catholic and cultural lens. • Format and send The LOOP newsletter each weekday, ensuring all content is accurate, timely, and properly sourced. • Summarize top news stories for The LOOP with clarity and brevity, highlighting relevance for Catholic readers. • Work under the editor-in-chief and to meet daily editorial goals and standards. • Conduct interviews and research as needed to provide original reporting and insight. • Monitor legislative updates, policy trends, and political commentary from trustworthy sources. • Stay attuned to political and cultural shifts that may affect the Church, families, or the common good. • Participate in editorial planning meetings and contribute to shaping CatholicVote’s news coverage.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong reporting and writing skills with experience in journalism, politics, or communications. • Practicing Catholic with working knowledge of Church teaching and the U.S. political landscape. • Familiarity with email platforms, basic HTML, and newsletter formatting preferred. • Ability to manage deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment. • Excellent attention to detail, especially under time pressure. • Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills. • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, political science, theology, or related field preferred.
