📋 Description

• Provide legal advice and strategic support to Centene’s commercial health plan business. • Serves as a lead resource for commercial health plan regulatory matters, including Ambetter Health and Solutions. • Advise business and compliance partners on federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, guidance, and market requirements that impact commercial product lines and programs. • Research, analyze, and interpret complex healthcare regulatory requirements, including but not limited to issues related to ACA/Exchange operations, mental health parity, No Surprises Act, essential health benefits, and broker matters. • Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, policies and procedures and related documents. • Provides practical legal guidance to support implementation of new laws, regulatory changes, business initiatives, policies, procedures, and operational workflow. • Manages or supports subpoenas, disputes, and outside counsel engagement as needed. • Partner with Compliance, Regulatory Operations, Product, Clinical, Network, Finance, and other business leadership to identify legal risks, develop practical solutions, and support timely decision-making. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Complies with all policies and standards.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) required • 5+ years of experience in the areas of corporate or health law required • 1+ years of experience with government contract law, health law and managed care preferred • Knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid insurance, state insurance and HMO regulations preferred • Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a complex regulatory environment • Bar Admission and currently in good standing preferred
