📋 Description

• Lead execution of Change.org’s presence in Italy • Shape brand and media strategy for Italy • Drive high-impact storytelling and media and social engagement • Build relationships across civil society and political circles • Identify, support, and drive major people-power campaign moments • Increase awareness of Change.org and platform campaigns among media and decision-makers • Implement global owned and earned media strategy • Set and deliver a national media strategy securing top-tier coverage across political perspectives • Identify and amplify petition opportunities on social media • Oversee and grow relationships with editors, producers, journalists, decision-makers, politicians, civic organisations, and influencers • Maintain a campaign portfolio aligned with brand principles and ideological diversity • Collaborate with functional leads on global brand strategy, department strategy, goals, and culture • Recruit, build, and lead high-performing communications teams • Use insights, performance data, and AI tools to plan, pitch, and adapt campaigns • Build systems and tools, including testing frameworks and lightweight automations

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience across media, communications, brand, public relations, or campaigning • Experience leading communications in a mission-driven, social impact, or journalism context • Deep understanding of diverse audience segments and their needs in Italy • Deep and current understanding of conservative and progressive media landscapes in Italy • Existing connections with key journalists, influencers, civil society representatives, officials, and politicians • High-trust network of senior editors, executive producers, and influential journalists • Proven ability to mobilize networks to secure high-impact coverage • Extensive executive, corporate, and crisis communication skills, written and verbal • Ability to influence diverse audiences, internal leadership, and global media • Ability to drive strategic alignment across cross-functional teams and external partners • Strategic mindset and innovative digital campaigning ideas • Willingness to support policy-compliant campaigns across differing viewpoints • Ability to work autonomously and complete projects with minimal supervision • Experience using insight, performance data, and AI tools • Ability to build systems such as testing frameworks or lightweight automations • Proven ability to recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams • Proven communications leadership in a mission-driven, social impact, or journalism context • Track record shaping media narratives and engaging top-tier, agenda-setting outlets • Success securing and sustaining high-profile media coverage • Experience managing social media channels for a brand, company, or organization • History leading and mentoring high-performing communications teams • English proficiency at minimum B2 • Resumes and application responses must be submitted in English • Must address work authorization or sponsorship requirements for employment in Italy
