📋 Description

• The Director of Development reports directly to the Chaplain of the Wake Forest Catholic Community, and is responsible for leading and managing the development program, with the goal of raising funds for programs, facilities, and the endowment. • Primary responsibilities and relationships with other people in the institution are outlined below. • The Director of Development full-time employee position will work remotely until the construction of the Wake Forest Catholic Center, after which a frequent presence in the Winston-Salem area will be required. • Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare annual plans for all fund development activities. • Develop and maintain a three-year plan for the development program, which is updated annually and created in coordination with the Chaplain and the Advisory Board. • Responsible for all matters related to the execution, management, and support of the fund development program. • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and close gifts. • Maintain an active pool of prospective benefactors who can support the ministry. • Conduct a minimum of 8 (8) face-to-face visits monthly (in and out of state) with potential benefactors in the form of discovery, cultivation, solicitation, or stewardship meetings. • Assist in scheduling, coordination, and follow-up of face-to-face visits for the WFCC Chaplain or other staff and volunteers as appropriate. • Supervise the stewardship process, including prompt gift acknowledgement, for all benefactors. • Prepare reports as appropriate and submit to the WFCC Chaplain. • Plan and supervise (in coordination with the Diocesan Campus Ministry Office) direct mail, special events, and other solicitation activities as needed. • Plan and supervise the production and distribution of newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials in support of the campus ministry. • Keeps benefactors and their intentions in prayer and encourages other ministry staff to do the same. • Pursues professional and/or faith development opportunities. • Participates in meetings and conversations that shape future vision and strategies for the WFCC. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chaplain to include special projects to assist in the overall fund-raising efforts.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher. • Several years of demonstrated success and experience advancement activities. • Thorough knowledge of fund-raising principles. • Enthusiasm and excellent people skills are essential. • The successful candidate must have the flexibility to handle the needs of a fast-paced office and the special needs of benefactors. • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. • Proven success in face-to-face major gift solicitation • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to lead and motivate others, especially volunteers. • Thoroughness in planning and implementing work, including goals, budget, timetables, and action steps to achieve objectives. • Ability to work effectively with other staff members, campus representatives, and volunteers. • Practicing Roman Catholic and affinity with the overall mission of Catholic campus ministry
