📋 Description

• Analyze and optimize the performance of the core ClickHouse database • Work on query optimization, distributed query optimization, relational operators, caching, and low-level SIMD optimizations • Extend existing and add new performance tests using real-world or synthetic datasets • Help Support Engineering debug advanced customer performance issues • Collaborate with other core teams to assess the performance impact of new features • Support colleagues with performance tests and advice • Resolve issues, review and finish pull requests, and answer questions from the open-source community through email, chats, Google Groups, and external Slack channels

🎯 Requirements

• Solid professional software development experience in C++ • Experience with Unix Systems • Strong knowledge of database internals and design • Experience in performance engineering, ideally in a database or in high-frequency trading, simulation, or real-time data processing • Ability to work well within and across engineering teams • Willingness to work closely with the open-source community • Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills • Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance • High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability • Experience with ClickHouse is a bonus • Experience in security, privacy, and compliance is a bonus • Experience with TCP/IP and network programming is a bonus • Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes, is a bonus • Experience giving public talks at technical conferences and meetups is a bonus • Previous contributions to open-source projects are a bonus
