📋 Description

• Plan each print run backward from the teaching calendar, agreeing quantities and order dates with Production • Source and compare suppliers by unit cost, lead time, and terms • Recommend suppliers with supporting analysis • Prepare purchases for budget-owner approval and place orders after approval • Track orders from confirmation through delivery • Match invoices to approved purchases and resolve discrepancies • Maintain supplier records, including prices, lead times, terms, and delivery history • Report print and other purchasing spend by brand and run • Identify opportunities to reduce costs • Pass Design and Quality specifications to suppliers • Escalate supplier issues to Production's Design and Quality team • Build a case for replacing manual processes with better tools

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience handling purchasing independently, including gathering quotes, comparing suppliers, and placing orders, with supporting records • Experience building a cost comparison that influenced a purchasing decision and saved or prevented costs • Experience following an order from purchase order through delivery and invoice, including resolving issues • Experience setting up a supplier tracker, price list, or spend report used by others • Experience planning a print run, production batch, or delivery schedule to a fixed date • Ability to write clear recommendations for budget owners • Spreadsheet proficiency, including formulas, lookups, and auditable models • Knowledge of print, including paper stocks, binding, print methods, and price drivers is nice to have • Education or educational publishing background is nice to have
