📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and ownership of full-stack features across React/Next.js frontends and Python backend services • Build scalable GraphQL APIs for internal applications and external partner integrations • Drive technical solutions from ambiguous requirements through implementation and production release • Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and production stability for supported services • Design advanced UI patterns, data visualizations, and analytics-driven workflows with product and design leaders • Maintain code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and refactoring initiatives • Evaluate and champion new technologies and best practices • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance • Influence platform architecture and long-term technical direction • Communicate technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Report to the CTO and collaborate with product, design, underwriting, and actuarial stakeholders • Own complex systems and features end-to-end, proactively designing scalable and maintainable solutions

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development • Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with React/Next.js • Strong understanding of clean code, SOLID, design patterns, distributed systems, and API-first principles • Deep experience designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs and service-oriented architectures • Strong experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines in cloud-based architectures • Ability to design scalable systems and make sound architectural decisions end-to-end • Security-conscious development with attention to data integrity, access control, and SOC 2 compliance • Ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to non-engineering stakeholders • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent • Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs, or production intelligence workflows is nice to have • Experience with event-driven architectures, data pipelines, Apache Airflow, or Neo4j is nice to have • Knowledge of cyber risk concepts is nice to have • Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or other compliance frameworks is nice to have • Prior insurtech, MGA, fintech, regulated data-intensive industry, or early-stage startup experience is nice to have • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
