📋 Description

• Lead Creative Chaos's engineering organization and drive technical direction, execution, and growth • Shape engineering practices and architecture while working with leadership, product, clients, and engineering teams • Own technical hiring, screening, performance, growth, and termination decisions • Establish and enforce standards for AI workflows, architecture, code review, testing, security, infrastructure, tools, and client experience • Coach and mentor engineers toward engineering standards across all client accounts • Own staffing assignments across client accounts, including bench utilization • Serve as the senior technical contact for client architecture guidance and second opinions • Define the engineering hiring plan and sourcing strategy • Explain architecture issues to clients, readiness issues to engineers, and AI-agent practices to groups • Run training sessions and workshops and use code review as teaching • By day 30, understand every account, engineer, and quality risk, and identify a delivery issue • By day 60, implement AI standards, run training sessions and workshops, and support teams in their areas

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building software; 3+ years leading engineers directly • Experience running engineering across several simultaneous client engagements, or running an in-house org and understanding what changes when the work is someone else's business • Continued technical involvement, including reading and reviewing code • Experience hiring engineers and letting one go • Ability to challenge incorrect designs with clients early • Ability to hold a room, teach workshops, and disagree with clients without losing them • Daily practical use of coding agents, with specific views on their limitations • Direct, written communication • Useful but not required: distributed and offshore team leadership • Useful but not required: heavy data and integration work against ERP systems, unstable APIs, and systems without direct database access • Useful but not required: experience taking a services business toward owning a product
