📋 Description

• Java Developer to join our high-impact team modernizing a critical Department of Defense (DoD) business system • This multi-year initiative focuses on consolidating and upgrading legacy applications into a cloud-native, secure, and efficient platform that supports millions of military retirees and beneficiaries • As a key contributor, you will help transform aging systems into a modern, resilient architecture using cutting-edge development practices • Key responsibilities include modernization of DRAS subsystems, cloud-native modules and orchestration layers using the Strangler Pattern for incremental migration, refactor and integrate code from disparate systems into a unified architecture, participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, DevSecOps pipelines, Oracle database migrations, secure data handling, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards; Azure/JWCC, containerization, monitoring, documentation and training

🎯 Requirements

• Must be eligible for a DoD security clearance • 5+ years of professional Java development experience • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevSecOps practices • Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, data migration, and ETL processes • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines • Understanding of secure software development frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-218, SP 800-53) • Ability to work with government security protocols, including encryption, access controls, and compliance documentation • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Professional presence
