• Conduct regular generative and evaluative research with internal operations users — including contextual inquiry, task analysis, and usability testing • Build a deep understanding of HealthSource workflows: how requests move through the system, where errors occur, and what slows teams down • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative signals (support ticket patterns, usage data, direct interviews) into clear problem definitions • Maintain and evolve a living view of the user, their mental models, and the operational context they work in • Own end-to-end design for HealthSource features — from early concepts through to polished, spec-ready deliverables • Create detailed interaction designs, flows, and prototypes that handle edge cases and error states, not just the happy path • Contribute to and enforce consistency within Datavant's design system, identifying components to standardize across products • Design for efficiency at volume — our ops users process hundreds of requests per day, so every friction point compounds • Balance short-term iterative improvements with longer-term systemic redesign opportunities • Partner closely with the HealthSource PM and engineering team throughout the product development cycle • Work directly with operations managers and specialists to validate designs early and often • Communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Contribute to product strategy conversations — you'll be expected to have a perspective on what problems are worth solving and why • Coordinate with the broader design team on shared patterns, principles, and critique
• 5+ years of UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft across research, interaction design, and systems thinking • Demonstrated experience designing for internal tools, ops platforms, or workflow-heavy products — not just consumer experiences • Fluency in the full research toolkit: when to use what method, how to synthesize findings, and how to bring stakeholders along • Strong interaction design skills — you think carefully about state, error handling, progressive disclosure, and keyboard/accessibility patterns • Experience contributing to or working within a design system • Comfort operating with ambiguity — this role requires you to define problems, not just execute solutions handed to you • Strong written communication; you can write a clear design brief, decision rationale, or research readout without hand-holding.
• 25 vacation days • Daily in-office lunch stipend (and a fully stocked kitchen) • Hybrid work model: 2 days/ week in our office in Gracia • Commitment to professional development opportunities • Employee-led initiatives including annual company-wide innovation day & DEI resource groups • Comprehensive private health coverage w/ out-of-network reimbursements options • Flexible remuneration with Cobee (Restaurant, Transportation, Nursery) • Peer & company recognition programs • Monthly educational lunch & learns
