📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted partner and a primary point of contact for DigitalOcean’s technical and non-technical teams. • Conduct comprehensive assessments of legal risks in product development, addressing privacy, regulatory, licensing, and intellectual property concerns. • Identify, assess, and drive resolution of legal issues related to customer data, privacy, security, and responsible AI. • Support the drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements and data protection agreements. • Co-develop scalable self-service legal playbooks, templates, and automated workflows.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state. • 8+ years of legal experience with significant in-house experience supporting SaaS, PaaS, and/or IaaS product development teams. • A track record of counseling AI product and engineering teams across the product development lifecycle. • Proven experience in using strong business judgement to calibrate business and legal risk. • Strong understanding of US and global privacy regulations, intellectual property, open-source software, artificial intelligence, and data security. • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
