• Own the design, administration, and continuous improvement of KLDiscovery’s global compute, storage, and cloud infrastructure • Provide end-to-end technical ownership of physical servers, virtualization, block/file/object storage, enterprise backup, and Azure IaaS environments • Serve as primary technical escalation point and design authority within the Compute & Storage team • Define and enforce compute, storage, Azure, operating system, patching, provisioning, security, and observability standards • Lead compute changes, cluster expansions, platform upgrades, capacity planning, performance management, and remediation • Own enterprise backup and recovery strategy, validation procedures, RPO/RTO alignment, and backup coverage processes • Administer and govern Azure IaaS infrastructure, cloud costs, hybrid cloud architecture, and roadmap input • Own Windows Server and Linux standards, patching, hardening baselines, server build runbooks, provisioning standards, and handoff checklists • Embed security controls and support audit and compliance reviews • Partner with Automation & Observability to ensure monitoring, alerting, infrastructure automation, and IaC adoption • Lead escalation management, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, blameless retrospectives, and systemic remediation • Evaluate infrastructure modernization, consolidation, upgrades, replacements, and cloud migration opportunities • Own infrastructure performance KPIs, including availability, capacity utilization, incident response SLAs, and patching compliance • Coordinate with Database, Enterprise Platforms, Automation & Observability, Networking, and DC Operations teams • Lead infrastructure projects from inception to completion and manage third-party vendors • Own Compute & Storage documentation standards and mentor Infrastructure Operations Engineers • Participate in the 24x7x365 on-call rotation
• 6+ years in infrastructure engineering with hands-on ownership across compute, storage, and cloud in a production enterprise environment • Expert-level administration of VMware vSphere and Nutanix in enterprise production environments • Experience with cluster design, capacity planning, and lifecycle management • Deep experience with block and file storage technologies, including RAID, SAN (Fibre Channel or iSCSI), NAS protocols, and enterprise storage array administration; Hitachi or equivalent required • Expert-level administration of Veeam or equivalent enterprise backup platform • Strong working knowledge of Azure IaaS architecture; hybrid cloud experience required • Expert-level Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, clustering, and server hardening • Strong Linux (Ubuntu) administration • Advanced PowerShell and/or Bash scripting • Working knowledge of IaC concepts and tooling such as Ansible or Terraform • Working familiarity with ISO 27001 and CIS Controls as applied to infrastructure • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent understanding expected • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes • Proficient in ITSM and ITIL-based Incident, Problem, Change, and Capacity Management • Experience delivering and owning technical projects end-to-end, including vendor management and stakeholder communication • Effective communication with peers, management, vendors, and internal customers • Experience supporting 24x7 global production environments; on-call availability required • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
