📋 Description

• Lead a team of 7–9 engineers focused on Payments • Partner with the Product Manager and Design to decide investment priorities • Own team performance management, including expectations, feedback, reviews, calibrations, and addressing underperformance • Create individual growth plans, coach through pairing and code review, provide stretch opportunities, and develop senior engineers and tech leads • Work directly in the team codebase, implementing features and architectural changes • Maintain effective AI-native engineering practices as tools evolve • Maintain high quality and low operational burden while increasing delivery speed • Track and communicate delivery speed, quality, team engagement, and product outcomes • Drive Payments initiatives affecting healthcare payments, retention, daily engagement, and continuity of care • Run quick experiments, validate user value, and pivot based on user feedback

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience • 4+ years leading engineering teams in product companies, including hiring, growth, and performance management • Track record of growing people and handling difficult performance situations • Hands-on experience using AI to speed up code writing, reviewing, and refactoring • Good judgment on when not to rely on AI • Founder mindset and ability to move quickly from ideas to experiments, validate with real users, and pivot based on evidence • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and try new approaches • Fluent English • Experience in payments or fintech, such as PSPs, reconciliation, or compliance (nice to have) • Experience working at scale (nice to have) • Candidates must be located in Spain with permission to work in Spain, or require visa sponsorship from Docplanner
