📋 Description

• Lead an engineering team, owning delivery and team development • Drive continuous improvement through fast, iterative processes • Support professional well-being and career development through 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and feedback • Develop future tech leads, engineering managers, staff engineers, and senior ICs • Write, review, and maintain code at a senior level • Drive architectural and technical design decisions with senior ICs • Uphold engineering standards through pull-request reviews and healthy release processes • Lead AI-augmented engineering practices while maintaining quality standards • Own team commitments, planning, prioritization, and delivery cadence • Partner with the Technical Product Owner and Product team on scope, sequencing, tradeoffs, and roadmap • Align engineering work with broader business objectives • Re-plan, re-prioritize, and re-staff as business needs change • Own team hiring, interviewing, recruiting, and coaching • Mentor peer engineering managers and raise the management bench • Communicate context and escalations to leadership • Empower senior engineers to own product areas • Partner with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and other teams for cross-team alignment

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management roles where you actively coded as part of your responsibilities • Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products and running services in production on Azure; AWS/GCP experience ideally additionally • Experience owning availability, cost, and customer-facing surfaces • Strong background in understanding and leading teams in the FinOps space • API-first mindset; products available through APIs for humans and agents • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including full-stack engineers and data engineers • Track record of visibly transforming engineering teams with measurable improvements in delivery velocity, technical quality, or team caliber • Deep technical fluency in the team's primary stack; ability to read, write, and review code at a senior level • Strong philosophy on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making • Excellent judgment under pressure • Direct, candid communication skills • Strong Golang knowledge or experience (bonus) • Established AI-augmented workflow and opinions on AI tools and agentic workflows (bonus) • Hands-on experience with more than one cloud provider (bonus) • Background in scaling teams, processes, or technical systems (bonus)
