• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle and other relational databases across on-premises and OCI environments • Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup/restore procedures are in place and tested • Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query analysis • Manage user access, roles, and database security in line with client standards • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams on database-related projects • Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents in a timely manner • Document database configurations, procedures, and changes
• Proven experience as a DBA managing production databases • Strong expertise in Oracle Database administration (on-premises) • Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) — including OCI Database Services, Autonomous Database, or similar • Experience with backup and recovery tools (RMAN, Data Guard, or equivalent) • Solid understanding of database security, user management, and access controls • Experience with performance monitoring and tuning • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with an Australian-based client • Nice to Have: Experience with other RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) • OCI certification or equivalent cloud database credentials • Experience supporting AU-based clients or working in AU time zones
