• Develop and implement a communications strategy that increases ECF’s visibility and advances its advocacy and research goals. • Design and execute outreach plans targeting policymakers, donors, and partners. • Identify and pursue opportunities for media coverage, speaking engagements, and partnerships. • Innovate with new tools and channels to reach key audiences and achieve measurable impact. • Write, design, and produce all communications assets — including one-pagers, two-pagers, newsletters, blogs, social media content, speaking notes, event materials, and press releases. • Ensure all written content reflects a consistent voice, tone, and message aligned with our goals. • Manage and grow organizational social media accounts (Twitter/X, LinkedIn). • Write and distribute a regular newsletter highlighting impact, research findings, and advocacy progress. • Write op-eds, speeches, and thought-leadership materials on behalf of ECF leadership, Members of Congress, and other influential voices. • Partner closely with the advocacy teams to ensure they have all communications materials needed. • Develop and execute strategies for disseminating advocacy materials to policymakers and key influencers. • Create tailored briefs, talking points, and campaign assets to support policy goals. • Collaborate with the research teams to promote findings, highlight grants, and communicate the outcomes and impact of funded projects. • Develop and execute strategies for propelling our team as the experts on Malnutrition. • Use creative storytelling and visuals to connect research and funding impact to child survival outcomes. • Identify and secure speaking opportunities for leadership and technical experts. • Plan and promote events such as “Lunch and Learn” sessions, webinars, and panels. • Work collaboratively with advocacy, research, and executive teams to align messaging and amplify impact.
• 5+ years of experience in communications, ideally within a nonprofit, advocacy, or public affairs setting. • Exceptional writing and editing skills — able to craft persuasive, engaging content across multiple formats. • Proven experience creating communications assets end-to-end (drafting, editing, and publishing). • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute communications strategies that achieve measurable impact. • Strong understanding of the U.S. policy and political environment, particularly in advocacy contexts. • Highly proactive and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Preferred Experience in global health, food security, or international development. • Familiarity with tools like CraftCMS, EmailOctopus, GSuite, and Canva. • Based in the Washington, DC area (preferred), though strong remote candidates within the U.S. will be considered.
