📋 Description

• Build high-quality backend software with full end-to-end ownership from feature planning through production stability • Design and build backend services in PHP/Laravel with clear domain boundaries and maintainable business logic • Own MongoDB schemas, indexes, query performance, and safe zero-downtime migrations for multi-tenant workloads • Build resilient asynchronous, event-driven workflows using SQS-based queues, jobs, and retries • Own API contracts, schema evolution, backward compatibility, and deprecation planning • Design secure tenant isolation, authorization boundaries, sensitive-data handling, auditability, secrets management, and privacy compliance • Implement and operate integrations with Twilio, Stripe, PayPal, Google, Outlook, and SIS/CRM systems • Optimize performance and cost at scale, including query patterns, N+1 issues, payload size, and tenant-level production behavior • Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests • Ship safely behind feature flags, monitor production services using Sentry and CloudWatch, and resolve issues from the shared triage queue • Lead technical design, communicate architectural trade-offs, improve code and designs through review, mentor engineers, coordinate cross-team changes, and turn incidents into systemic improvements • Apply company-approved AI development tools thoughtfully; review, test, and fully own AI-assisted output • Share effective AI development patterns with the broader team • Participate in live, interactive technical interviews demonstrating work, reasoning, and AI tooling use

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time at or near Senior level in a complex, multi-tenant SaaS product • Deep expertise in PHP and Laravel, including service and domain design, async and queue primitives, and performance at scale • Familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js, particularly NestJS, preferred • Strong data modeling skills, ideally with MongoDB, including schema and index design, query performance, and tenancy considerations • Experience building async, event-driven systems using SQS-based queuing or comparable technologies, with knowledge of idempotency, retries, and failure modes • Hands-on AWS experience with ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and S3 as a service owner • Experience designing and versioning APIs used by other teams and customers • GraphQL experience is a plus • Experience implementing third-party API integrations, including authentication, retries, and reconciliation • Automated testing across layers; Playwright or comparable end-to-end testing experience is a plus • Sound judgment on AI integration; production experience with OpenAI APIs or comparable LLM platforms is a plus • Current hands-on fluency with agentic AI development tooling across the full lifecycle; Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or comparable tools • Excellent written communication for technical documents and pull request descriptions
