📋 Description

• Build and own data pipelines and integration services designed for idempotency, safe retries, and observability • Own integrations through production, ensuring they move real student data correctly • Verify integrations by running real customer records through them • Protect data integrity and detect discrepancies before clients do • Collaborate with the Integrations Architect on higher-risk changes • Drive root causes to resolution across incidents, synchronization failures, and data discrepancies • Identify production risks such as schema drift, upstream API changes, rate limits, credential expiry, and partial-failure edge cases • Generalize reusable fixes into shared libraries • Escalate broad-blast-radius decisions to the relevant Principal Engineer • Drive completed work through release • Use code assistants, test generation, and debugging tools while reviewing, testing, and owning all AI-assisted work before merge • Understand the underlying problem before implementation • Take initiative and surface risks early • Collaborate with the team and incorporate feedback

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including senior-level work on data integrations or backend services in a complex, multi-tenant SaaS product • Strong, current Python for production data pipelines and integration services • Solid MongoDB experience, including data modeling and query performance across flexible document-oriented schemas at multi-tenant scale • Knowledge of distributed systems, including async queue-driven architectures, partial failure, retries, idempotency, eventual consistency, and backpressure • Experience with third-party API integrations, including Student Information Systems, Stripe, PayPal, Google, and Outlook • Knowledge of authentication, pagination, rate limits, and graceful handling of unreliable upstream systems • Experience with AWS-hosted environments, secrets management, SQS, and workflow orchestration • Comfort in an async-first, PR-based team with rotating production-reliability ownership • Automated testing across layers • Sound AI judgment • Production experience with OpenAI APIs or comparable LLM platforms is a plus • Deep, current fluency with agentic AI development tooling such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable tools • Excellent written communication • Ability to work remotely in Serbia
