• Manage or co-manage a pool of investees and maintain and develop relationships with them • Assist in developing new business opportunities and expanding investment pipelines • Support Investment Team members and perform financial analysis with senior regional colleagues to assess investment opportunities • Collect and analyze investee governance, credit management, financial, and ESG information and store it on the shared drive • Monitor current investees through monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual analytical reviews • Assess investee risk profiles, including economic, political, and natural-disaster risks • Assist in selecting target investee companies in clean cooking, access to energy, and financial intermediation • Participate in negotiations with potential investees to define investment terms • Prepare investment proposals for the Investment Committee and assist with their preparation and presentation • Plan and prepare due diligence trips and meet minimum monitoring due diligence time requirements • Prepare and update detailed Country Risk Analysis reports, including risks and mitigation factors • Support preparation of loan documentation, negotiation, and transaction closing • Create portfolio analysis reports for supervisors, portfolio management, senior management, and investors • Research and monitor financial markets and report information on investees • Support identification of new business opportunities and communication with current and prospective investees • Develop internal tools and procedures • Participate in technical task forces and support management teams • Contribute to new product development • Report directly to the Head of the Regional Office and work closely with the Fund Manager for one fund
• Degree in finance, economics, or a related field • At least 2 years of working experience in banking, impact investment, or economic development • Previous experience in investment management • Experience operating financial and ESG due diligences of financial institutions and/or renewable energy companies preferred • Demonstrated interest in impact investing, emerging markets development, SDG initiatives, green energy, or energy transition projects • Strong financial analysis skills • Thorough understanding of due diligence, client selection, distribution, and financing processes in the financial and credit sectors • Skills in performing due diligence • Skills in assessing investment risk and developing investment proposals • Aptitude to work in a multinational and multicultural environment • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible, hands-on approach • Capacity to identify critical issues and analyze data, information, and facts pragmatically • Capability to draw appropriate conclusions from available information • Excellent professional communication and presentation skills • Ability to communicate freely in the language of doing business at the Regional Office • Excellent written and spoken English and French • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills • Availability to travel regularly to visit potential and existing investees in Africa • Application documents, CV, and cover letter must be submitted in English
