📋 Description

• Manage or co-manage a pool of investees and maintain and develop relationships with them • Assist in developing new business opportunities and support Investment Team members • Perform financial analysis with senior regional team members to assess investment opportunities • Collect and analyze investee governance, credit management, financial and ESG information and store it on the shared drive • Monitor current investees through monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual analytical reviews • Assess investee risk profiles and economic, political and natural-disaster risks • Assist with investment selection for companies in clean cooking, access to energy and financial intermediation • Participate in negotiations with potential investees under senior Investment Team guidance • Prepare investment proposals for the Investment Committee • Assist with preparation and presentation of investment proposals • Plan and prepare due diligence trips • Meet minimum monitoring due diligence time for current investees • Prepare and update detailed Country Risk Analysis reports and mitigation factors • Support loan documentation, negotiation and transaction closing • Create portfolio analysis reports for supervisors, portfolio management, senior management and investors • Research and monitor financial markets and report investee information • Support identification of new business opportunities, pipeline building and business expansion • Initiate and maintain communication with current and prospective investees • Supervise junior team members and proofread/evaluate analytical work • Contribute to internal tools, procedures, technical task forces, management teams and new product development

🎯 Requirements

• Excellent written and spoken English and French skills • Degree in finance, economics, or a related field • At least 5–10 years of working experience in banking, impact investment or economic development • Previous experience in investment management • Experience conducting financial and ESG due diligence of financial institutions and/or renewable energy companies preferred • Demonstrated interest in impact investing, emerging markets development, SDG initiatives, green energy or energy transition projects • Strong financial analysis skills • Thorough understanding of due diligence, client selection, distribution and financing processes in financial and credit sectors • Skills in performing due diligence • Skills in assessing investment risk and developing investment proposals • Aptitude to work in a multinational and multicultural environment • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible, hands-on approach • Capacity to identify critical issues and draw appropriate conclusions from available information • Excellent professional communication and presentation skills • Ability to communicate in the language of doing business at the Regional Office • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills • Prior experience in direct lending to SMEs, access-to-energy companies and carbon credit projects would be an advantage
