📋 Description

• As a fractional controller you could spend a few hours a month up to full time availably applying your technical and account management skill set across a variety of clients and industries. • Primary objective: oversee enterprise accounting and provide financial information to assist clients and shareholders in making economic company decisions; proactive and solution oriented for start-up accounting. • Primary responsibility and ownership for overall engagement level relationship with the client • Oversee the activities of the accounting department with an emphasis on Life Sciences-specific clients, including accurate and timely financial management reporting and monthly financial statements • Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements, including capitalization and amortization of costs when appropriate • Create and nurture partnerships across functional roles within the organization, including offshore team in India • Review and approve client compliance schedule • Review and oversee client onboarding process to ensure company meets and exceeds client expectations • Review and approve client accounting policies and procedures including Accounting/ERP selection/implementation, cash flow setup, capitalization policy, prepaid expense policy, and new initiatives • Develop and mentor finance and accounting team members • Identify opportunities for Up-Sell/Cross-Sell and collaborate with Business Development Team Members • Manage finance relationships with vendors, banks, corporate credit cards, and merchant processors • Oversee tax return process and facilitate requests from tax team • Manage audit process and facilitate requests from audit firm if required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required • 7+ years of combined Finance and Accounting experience in a fast-paced environment • 5+ years of Life Sciences experience • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, preferably globally focused leveraging an offshore team • Sophisticated depth of communication, analytical, and time management skills • Ability to be a trusted advisor to our clients • Ability to multi-task efficiently from a remote work environment • Maintain high attention to detail and strict deadlines • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online, NetSuite and Microsoft suite, especially Excel • CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred • 2+ years of start-up experience
