📋 Description
• Collaborating on data science projects with utility experts and data scientists • Translating a scope of work into technical tasks for project team assignments using Jira issues • Data exploration and evaluating sufficiency to perform data science tasks • Creatively distilling insights from data exploration and modeling for actionable results • Developing statistical and machine learning models and validating model performance • Collaborating on the development and maintenance of data science pipelines for repeated execution • Managing code repositories and conducting code reviews • Communicating with clients throughout the data science project lifecycle • Identifying data sources for data science solutions to utility industry problems
🎯 Requirements
• Master’s degree or PhD in a technical field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, or electrical engineering • Strong communication and presentation skills • Proficiency in R or Python (fluency in both preferred) • Experience applying data science methods to proof-of-concept and operational support projects in a professional environment • Experience leveraging both static customer attributes (e.g., demographics) and dynamic behavioral data (e.g., purchasing patterns, click-through rates, bill payment trends) • Experience curating publicly and commercially available attribute data to append to customer population data for use in modeling • Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure • Strong understanding of a variety of statistical and machine learning model families, including: Generalized linear models, Time series approaches, Penalized regression models, Tree-based ensemble models, Neural network models, Natural language processing techniques
