📋 Description

• Lead the design of LV distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems, ICT, access control, and life‑safety systems. • Produce and review calculations, schematics, layouts, specifications, and technical reports. • Use design tools such as Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, Revit, and AutoCAD. • Ensure compliance with BS 7671, Building Regulations, CIBSE, BS/EN standards, and local authority requirements. • Lead electrical design packages across RIBA Stages 1–6. • Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, structural, and sustainability teams. • Manage project deliverables, deadlines, and resource allocation. • Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and external stakeholders. • Present design proposals, technical solutions, and progress updates. • Integrate energy‑efficient lighting, smart controls, renewable technologies, EV charging, and low‑carbon electrical solutions. • Support sustainability assessments including Part L, BREEAM, NABERS, and energy strategy development. • Promote whole‑life carbon thinking and electrical system optimisation. • Review contractor submissions and technical submissions.

🎯 Requirements

• Technical & Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline. • Chartered or working toward CEng (CIBSE or IET). • Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations, including BS 7671, CIBSE Guides, and relevant British Standards. • Proven experience delivering electrical designs for commercial offices, residential schemes, hotels, retail, or mixed‑use developments. • Proficiency in electrical design software (Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, Revit MEP). • Strong communication and client‑facing ability. • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
