• Process semi-monthly payroll for U.S. (multi-state), Canada, and international employees, ensuring compliance with country, federal, and state regulations. • Review and verify timesheets, earnings, and deductions. • Respond to and support employees on payroll inquiries, providing clear explanations and resolving issues promptly. • Collaborate with the HR department to process new hires, terminations, and compensation adjustments. • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy. • Prepare payroll reconciliations for benefits. • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations. • Assist with special payroll projects, including year-end reporting, system upgrades, and process improvements. • Prepare month-end reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts in our accounting system to the payroll system. • Identify and explain variances in payroll accounts month to month & quarter to quarter. • Responsible for keeping payroll policies and flowcharts current. • Generate and analyze payroll reports to support finance, tax filings, and compliance audits. • Lead in year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s or other tax forms as well as year-end reconciliations.
• Associate’s degree or 2+ years of payroll experience. • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred). • Experience with payroll systems such as UKG (preferred). • Experience processing multi-state, Canadian, or international payroll is a plus (preferred).
