• Expert-level WordPress experience: you can do far more than install plugins and change text • Strong coding skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP; comfortable working directly in code when needed • Proven experience improving website UX: You understand user journeys, not just page layouts • Experience building or expanding site functionality (custom post types, integrations, advanced filtering, forms, etc.) • Comfort with automation tools and workflow optimization (Zapier, WP plugins, APIs, etc.) • Sharp eye for design quality and brand consistency. You notice when something looks off, and you fix it • Ability to take direction and content from non-technical colleagues and get it live quickly without losing quality • Strong project management instincts; able to prioritize a heavy workload and communicate clearly about timelines
