📋 Description

• Own finmid's commercial contract stack across platform-facing, borrower-facing, and supplier-facing agreements • Negotiate independently with counterparties, redline against the playbook, and escalate genuinely difficult decisions • Partner with product leads to translate roadmaps into legal frameworks, term sheets, customer-facing terms and conditions, partner schedules, and contractual scaffolding • Build contract-management infrastructure, including AI-assisted redline review, clause libraries, playbooks, automated terms-and-conditions propagation, version control, and internal legal knowledge systems • Negotiate third-party supplier agreements covering cloud and data providers and outsourced services • Manage liability, intellectual property, data, and exit terms in vendor contracts • Embed DORA, ICT third-party, GDPR, sub-processor, outsourcing, and vendor-risk requirements into commercial contracting • Select, test, and integrate AI legal tooling such as Claude, Codex, Noxtua, and Legora • Map finmid's contract surface and identify workflow collisions, standards drift, and manual capacity drains • Take over at least one live commercial negotiation and one live procurement negotiation during the first three months • Establish an initial machine-friendly playbook of recurring positions • Replace at least one painful manual workflow with an automated process • Develop a 12-month strategy for the commercial legal function

🎯 Requirements

• Graduate of a top-tier EU, UK, or US law school • Qualified or qualifying in a relevant jurisdiction • At least one year of experience in Big Law or in-house at a technology company, fintech, SaaS business, or financial institution • Direct exposure to commercial contract drafting and negotiation • Bonus: experience with finance, regulated products, or commercial contracting subject to supervisory expectations • Working permit in Germany • Ability to design systems and workflows for recurring contract problems • Ability to decompose contracting processes into decision trees, branching logic, and checkpoints • Practical curiosity about AI tooling and willingness to work hands-on with it • Ability to balance legal precision with commercial pragmatism • Precise writing skills for clauses, playbooks, internal guidance, and product specifications • Comfort working cross-functionally with product and engineering • Ability and willingness to build a function from scratch • High standards of quality and trusted-advisor capability
