📋 Description

• Audit the legacy Java API test suite and decide what to keep, retire, or move to a lower test level • Oversee the AI-assisted migration of tests to Go and Gonkey while preserving critical checks • Close coverage gaps according to the test pyramid, prioritising scenarios where money is at risk • Help each team define and document its own test strategy and pyramid, and review them • Advise team leads and automation engineers on testing decisions based on risk and cost • Own regression planning, distribute checks, and report status • Maintain healthy daily and nightly test runs by addressing flaky tests and assigning owners and deadlines for failures • Lead investigations of cross-team defects and coordinate reproduction and resolution • Establish shared QA standards and tooling, including ReportPortal, TMS, and test-case and bug-report formats • Incorporate AI into everyday testing, with agents writing tests and engineers reviewing them • Run a biweekly QA sync • Mentor engineers and help manual QAs transition into automation • Expand UI test automation • Work within the Payment Integrations team of FinteqHub's payment orchestration platform

🎯 Requirements

• Senior or Lead-level experience in test automation, with a strong focus on API testing • Built a test strategy and test pyramid from scratch, in more than one product • Track record of changing testing practices across several teams • Strong test design skills, building coverage from requirements and specifications • Understanding of when unit testing is sufficient and when end-to-end testing is needed • Ability to align teams and drive decisions without formal authority • Mentoring experience • Experience writing tests in several languages and frameworks, with ability to learn new tools quickly • Ability to read Java well enough to audit and migrate an existing test suite • Solid understanding of REST/HTTP, JSON, and API contract testing • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL, and any message broker • Experience with CI pipelines, investigating failures across services through logs, metrics, and the database, and stabilising flaky tests • Daily use of AI in QA work, including generating tests from specifications, porting tests between languages, analysing failures, and reviewing code • At least Intermediate level of English • Native-level Russian • Go is a strong plus • Experience with TypeScript and Playwright • Experience migrating a test suite from one stack to another • Experience building AI-based tooling or agents for QA tasks • Mobile testing experience, including BrowserStack • Experience in fintech or payment systems • Experience with API testing tools
