📋 Description

• Interpret and report drug-testing results for DOT, federal, and non-DOT clients in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures • Review documentation for errors and interview donors with non-negative results by phone • Determine whether legitimate medical explanations exist for non-negative laboratory reports • Downgrade or cancel drug tests under appropriate circumstances • Provide quality-assurance review of the testing process • Provide feedback to laboratory and collection-site representatives regarding performance problems • Audit DOT-negative Custody and Control Forms quarterly • Provide feedback to clients and tested persons on problem cases • Consult with and provide information to federal agency representatives on reviewed cases • Provide expert-witness testimony as required • Review and sign off on administrative documents requiring MRO review • Work closely with the Chief MRO and MRO support personnel to safeguard medical-review accuracy and integrity • Suggest process improvements, discuss proposed product functionality and enhancements, and provide feedback on procedure updates • Keep current on applicable federal, DOT, and state laws, regulations, MRO manual updates, technology enhancements, and MRO practices

🎯 Requirements

• Candidates must reside in Mexico and be authorized to work in Mexico • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathy (DO) • Current Medical Review Officer (AAMRO) certification • Current license to practice medicine in the United States or Canada • Required 1 to 3 years of medical training and/or practice in interpreting and evaluating drug test results • Knowledge of issues relating to adulterated, substituted, and invalid specimens • Knowledge of downgrading and cancellation of test processes • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines for MROs and applicable DOT agency regulations • Knowledge of collection processes and laboratory practices and protocols • Knowledge of alternate medical explanations for positive drug test results • Required availability to take calls during scheduled hours, currently 8am to 7pm CST • Required commitment of 20 hours per week, with ability to work additional hours up to 30 hours per week • Preferred ABAM Certification in Addiction Medicine • Preferred completion of the ASAM Review Course in Addiction Medicine • Preferred 1 to 3 years of experience working as an MRO • Preferred documented experience providing expert witness testimony
