📋 Description

• Manually test new features before release, including happy and unhappy paths • Drive release preparation and post-release testing, including code freezes, change identification, smoke testing, and regression testing • Build and maintain automated test suites across API, web UI, and service-to-service layers • Own and maintain the proxy and test environment simulating production message sending • Keep test environments updated to reflect new functionality and realistic production conditions • Reproduce client and end-user issues and document reproduction steps, trace IDs, log excerpts, and metrics • Set up and configure performance and load testing frameworks • Run scheduled performance and load tests and facilitate results review • Configure and operate test and staging environments • Schedule automated test runs through CI and verify environments, keys, queues, and AWS metrics • Collaborate with the product manager during requirements gathering and document manual test cases • Improve the team's QA process over time

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level experience with modern UI and API automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar • Ability to write, review, and modify automation code independently • Strong testing mindset and detail orientation • Ability to write clear, complete test cases and reproduce bugs methodically • Understanding of distributed and event-driven systems, including producer/consumer and pub/sub patterns • Knowledge of consumer lag, message redelivery and duplication, poison messages, and dead-letter queues • Ability to trace logical operations across services and queues • Familiarity with AWS • Familiarity with Lambda • Familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript • Familiarity with queue systems, specifically BullMQ or similar • Familiarity with DocumentDB • Familiarity with Redis • Some DevOps familiarity for standing up environments and scheduling test runs • Comfort using AI tools to support testing and generate automation code • General engineering and scripting ability in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar • Ability to build tooling and test harnesses and modify automation code for AI agents • Ability to develop product empathy and understand real-world application behavior
