📋 Description

• Embed with bank architecture, infrastructure, and product teams to understand landscapes, pain points, and modernization goals • Translate business needs into technical requirements • Design future-state bank architecture to accelerate innovation • Build trusted relationships with bank engineering and architecture leadership • Translate deployment patterns, friction points, and unmet needs into product requirements and platform improvements • Develop proofs of concept and build bank use cases end to end, including digital twins, checking accounts, and stablecoin wallets • Connect upstream and downstream systems using clean, durable, production-grade integration patterns • Build and maintain high-performance data pipelines connecting existing bank systems • Run performance tests and validate scale, resilience, and failover behavior • Support sales through technical demos, architecture workshops, and platform education for prospective clients • Travel to client sites as needed, typically 25–50% depending on engagement phase

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record shipping robust, scalable infrastructure in Go or similar systems languages (Rust, Java) • Deep experience with Kafka, concurrency patterns, event-driven architectures, and multi-region databases • Strong background in AWS, GCP, or Azure • Experience with SRE principles, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes/OpenShift • Experience building data-intensive systems and distributed data pipelines • Ability to integrate AI into workflow and familiarity with current LLM capabilities and agentic development patterns • 4+ years in a technical, customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Consultant, or Software Engineer • Preference for knowledge of financial transaction flows, core banking systems, or banking technology • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and create processes where none exist • Ownership of outcomes and ability to resolve and prevent production issues • Ability to switch between coding, architecture design, and leading workshops • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed • Candidates near FIS office locations in Sydney, Australia or Christchurch, New Zealand are expected to follow a hybrid schedule
