📋 Description
• Report to the head of SSA and support the SSA Strategic Insights team • Conduct primary and secondary research to monitor macroeconomic, political, and business developments in the SSA region and analyze implications for multinational companies • Support creation of analysis and presentations advising senior executives in multinational companies on business implications of economic and political developments in SSA • Write concise, impactful research deliverables tailored for a senior executive reader • Produce syndicated content for FrontierView's client base and collaborate with the commercial team to support growth strategy and client relationships • Engage with C-suite level executives and listen in on discussions to see how firms utilize macroeconomic analysis in business planning • Collaborate within a stimulating and collaborative work environment and receive constructive feedback and coaching to develop skills
🎯 Requirements
• 1–2 years of work experience • Bachelor's (or preferably Master’s) degree from a top-tier academic institution in a relevant field, ideally Economics • Strong economics knowledge; ability to apply macroeconomic principles to real-life country developments • Demonstrated knowledge of key SSA markets through academic and/or professional research experience • Research experience including hypothesis-testing, structuring complex research projects, primary and secondary research, survey-building • Exceptional communication skills in English; able to distil complex and technical topics for non-specialists • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) • Ability to cover a variety of topics and issues, including unfamiliar ones • Familiarity with quantitative economic analysis • Excellent problem-solving skills • Team-oriented mindset
