FLECS is an open platform and "App Store" for industrial automation that enables machine builders, component manufacturers and operators to discover, deploy, operate and monetize industrial software directly on industrial systems. The core offering is a standardized, container-based infrastructure that runs on PLCs, IPCs, or edge devices to enable fast, secure, scalable software distribution and updates without vendor lock-in. FLECS provides deployment and update workflows, licensing, device management, version control, tools for developing digital business models and go-to-market strategies, and guidance on lifecycle topics (taxation, customs, depreciation). It also offers white-label capabilities so partners can provide a branded software platform while FLECS supplies the technical foundation.

📋 Description

• Enhancement of the role-based access control (RBAC) system • Automated creation of app clients • Development of a dedicated system container for RBAC • Shared configuration between FLECS Core and the RBAC container • Integration of app client permissions into the app manifest • Requesting required permissions from the user during installation • Development of unit and integration tests • Collaboration with other developers and drafting technical documentation

🎯 Requirements

• You are studying Computer Science or a related field • Some experience with software design and development • Knowledge of the Rust programming language • Experience with tools/frameworks (e.g., git, cargo, Docker) • Motivation to learn new languages and technologies • Strong attention to detail • High degree of self-organization and ability to work independently
