📋 Description
• The Project Engineering Manager oversees engineering activities of the project considering the Quality/Cost/Time Delivery criteria • She/He plans overall design activities, manages project design budget, implements design change process, supervises, and coordinates all engineering activities required to execute the project, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors • Ensures technical coordination of the GE Vernova Grid Solutions projects • Warrants that optimized technical solutions (cost effective solution, ease of installation and operation of the systems) in line with Customer expectation are implemented by project engineering team and Partners • Is accountable for the proper performance of design in matter of time spent, deadlines, and quality • Manage global time schedule of concerned engineering activities • Responsible for issuing consolidation of provisional drawing list of the project or of his/her work package, integrating submission dates • Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with his/her work package • Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality including Partner documents anticipate and mitigate delivery issues • Manage time schedule for his/her work package engineering activities in close collaboration with the planner • Ensure proper global design freeze • Follow the division of responsibility matrix and understand the limits of supply • Coordinate technical interfaces between project partners (internal and external) • Manage and harmonize the technical documentation • Supports and participates to continuous improvement actions for better engineering efficiency, delivers documents on time and with requested quality • Ensure a proper technical risk analysis is conducted for innovations • Lead and coordinate design teams • Follow the engineering budget and identify potential savings • Participate and contribute to project multidisciplinary design reviews according to procedures and project strategy • Organize and manage disciplinary design reviews • Manage customer comments and ensure compliance to Customer requirements through technical queries
🎯 Requirements
• Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical & Electronics Engineering • 6+ years of Engineering activities as lead HV Substation Design Engineer • Ensure compliance with relevant international standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and CIGRE guidelines • Knowledge of Algerian Regulations, Standards, and Technical Requirements • Familiarity with the Algerian Electricity and Gas Law – notably Law 02-01 of February 5, 2002. • Understanding of CREG (Commission de Régulation de l'Électricité et du Gaz) rules and procedures. • Awareness of national grid codes, particularly for high-voltage installations. • Proven experience with technical requirements and specifications, especially for HV GIS substations • Knowledge of CCT (Cahier des Charges Techniques) documents • Experience with factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT) as per protocols • Hands-on experience in HV GIS/AIS substations (132kV, 220kV, 400kV and above) • Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team’s context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries. • Knowledge of project execution risks and financial processes. • Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period and to travel worldwide • Experience of team building as lead engineer • Strong communication and persuasion skills • Fluency in French and English to communicate with international partners as well as the local clients in native language.
