📋 Description

• Lead analytical workstreams within client projects, designing approaches, managing data and evidence, and owning outputs from start to finish • Manage small to medium-sized client projects, including workplans, project finances, internal and external teams, and project administration • Conduct and direct quantitative and qualitative analysis across early years projects, including system diagnostics, financing and costing studies, public-private partnership feasibility, workforce analyses, and policy benchmarking • Develop technical reports, investment cases, policy notes, and slide decks • Present findings clearly and authoritatively to senior audiences • Engage directly with clients in working sessions, technical reviews, and in-country engagements • Mentor and support junior colleagues • Contribute to proposal development and business development, including methodology sections, workplans, and commercials • Lead client relationships and business development processes • Review work and outputs of more junior colleagues • Own team workstreams

🎯 Requirements

• At least 3+ years of substantive professional experience in early years (or related field) consulting, research, government, or international development • Demonstrated ability to own analytical workstreams independently • An outstanding degree (top 10% of cohort) in Education, Early Childhood Development, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Statistics, or a related field • Strong proficiency in Excel • Possibly proficiency in at least one of Stata, R, or Python for quantitative analysis • Ability to run and interpret analyses without close supervision • Experience with relevant datasets, including learning assessments, EMIS, DHS, MICS household surveys, and administrative data, highly valued • Prior experience in strategy, economics, or development consulting • Ability to structure problems, develop hypotheses, and produce high-quality, client-ready outputs under pressure • Ideally, prior experience managing projects or workstreams, including budgets, workplans, and teams • Excellent written and verbal communication in English • Ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences, including ministers, donors, and senior officials • Ability to use AI tools effectively and responsibly to enhance analytical and written work • Passionate, self-motivated problem-solving • Integrity and ethical behaviour • Analytical thinking and fast learning • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to mutual mentorship • Initiative to drive excellence • Potential to become a practice leader • Intellectual excellence, demonstrated through academic record, professional track record, or both • Based in Africa or India, with deep roots in the Young World and commitment to its development • Versatility to work across countries, methods, and Early Years sub-sectors • Leadership ability, including bringing others along, navigating ambiguity, and taking initiative
