📋 Description

• Lead and coordinate preparation of budget estimates from site visits, conceptual information, and hard bids • Develop bid strategies and general trade estimates • Own estimates from inception through completion • Provide support services during construction phases • Interpret project blueprints, conceptual drawings, bidding specifications, scope descriptions, contracts, and related documents • Prepare estimates, proposals, cost information, and schedules • Operate computerized bidding systems • Respond to bid requests, estimates, and proposals promptly and professionally • Determine project duration and dollar value, and review budgets before submission • Review subcontractor lists and monitor bid solicitation progress and subcontractor coverage on bid day • Lead project turnover meetings and provide project teams with background information • Attend pre-bid meetings • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids for completeness • Develop subcontractor lists for bid solicitation • Manage the entire bid process from inception to submission • Coordinate with Accounting, Operations, Human Resources, and other supporting work groups • Report to the Chief Estimator and work with an Estimating Coordinator

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator handling commercial projects • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, or relevant experience in lieu of education • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Ability to manage time and multitask across 4–5 projects simultaneously • Experience with commercial project estimating, including restaurants, schools, car dealerships, office spaces, ground-up buildings, retail spaces, or multi-unit housing • Strong math, problem-solving, cost analysis, communication, and time-management skills • Timberline estimating software preferred • Supervisory experience/responsibilities • Willingness to travel 0–10% depending on projects • Ability to work full-time in a U.S. timezone • English proficiency required for the application process • Must be comfortable working as an independent contractor
