📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle—from ideation and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical strategy and platform evolution • Contribute to how Balance shifts towards agentic software development lifecycle • Support Balance’s rapid business growth • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data teams, fellow engineers, and other stakeholders • Mentor and support fellow engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building production-grade backend applications • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures • Significant practical experience building distributed systems • Hands-on experience with large-scale production databases, including PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB • Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and database performance tuning • Experience working with AWS cloud services • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or serverless architectures • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines • Solid understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, and design patterns • Experience working in Agile development environments • Frontend experience with React or similar frameworks is an advantage • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is an advantage • Curiosity about and active experimentation with how AI changes the Software Development Lifecycle
