• Lead and manage site and location teams to ensure performance standards, project objectives and compliance with all GE Grid guidelines and procedures. • Contribute to cost estimation, planning and tendering of construction and installation activities, and to the definition and implementation of contract strategies in coordination with EHS, Quality, Planning and Procurement. • Responsible for organizing and supervising all construction and installation works — from project preparation (FEED) through to completion. • Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, partners and consortia on all construction-related and operational matters on site. • Ensure integration and compliance with the client’s EHS and quality requirements at all project stages and actively promote a strong safety culture (Stop Work Policy, hazard identification, continuous improvement). • Implement and monitor the construction management system (LPS) and take responsibility for scheduling, workforce planning, cost and risk management in Construction & Commissioning. • Maintain regular communication with all personnel on site (GE and external partners) to ensure collaboration, transparency and process integrity. • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, project progress, subcontractor performance and budget adherence. • Actively contribute to improvement initiatives for construction processes, tools and documentation, and transfer lessons learned to future projects.
• Appropriate qualification in civil/construction engineering or electrical engineering at degree level with several years of professional experience. • Relevant experience, training and certifications in health and safety that meet international standards for roles of this type. GWO certification is an additional advantage. • Basic knowledge of high-voltage electrical work and commissioning. • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead work teams in challenging situations. • Previous experience as a Site/Construction Manager on a large high-voltage substation project. • Experience with the installation and commissioning of major project elements, including civil works, building services and auxiliary systems, high- and medium-voltage equipment, control and protection systems, and commissioning activities. • Familiarity with international standards and best practices in construction. • Knowledge of environmental legislation and good industry practices relating to construction works. • Knowledge of the key applicable standards and specifications for high-voltage and electrical construction relevant to countries in the region.
