📋 Description

• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning reliability, performance, and availability • Influence the roadmap and personal career objectives • Deliver new features with the team and iterate based on results • Drive projects from ideation through customer-facing operations • Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team’s direct scope • Participate in on-call rotations and own operated services • Mentor and support team members • Participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team • Develop deeper knowledge of Grafana Cloud, customers, and large distributed-system codebases

🎯 Requirements

• Solid experience with at least one programming language; familiarity with Go, Python, C, C++, Rust or similar • Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and brainstorming through product shipment • Experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or experience with systems engineering • Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software • Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action • Customer-focused approach • Ability to analyze, design, build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate • Good communication and collaboration skills in a fully remote setup • Bonus: experience writing low-level code for databases, storage layers, or query engines • Bonus: experience with Kubernetes • Bonus: Grafana and/or Prometheus operational experience • Bonus: exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems • Bonus: familiarity with on-call, operations/SRE, or infrastructure as code
